Abby
Abby McGrew started dancing in high school and immediately fell in love. Her first ballroom class was a social dance class in the Paramount Theatre's Hardacre Ballroom. She furthered her training in ballroom dance at Brigham Young University-Idaho. There, she competed in International styles, Theater Arts, and also on formation teams.
Abby believes strongly in continuing education for all dancers and is currently learning and competing in Country Dance for fun. She loves learning, and performing, but her true passion is in teaching others the joy of dance. She teaches at ABC Ballroom in Noblesville, and Butler University.
Adam
Adam Trogdlen began teaching in 2007 with Arthur Murray and is now proudly teaching at ABC Ballroom in Noblesville. He specializes in teaching beginner dancers and West Coast Swing. In his dancing career, he has had the opportunity to train and dance with top professionals in all dances across the country. He has had the honor to teach professional athletes including NBA All Stars and IndyCar drivers. Adam has competed numerous times in both the Hamilton County Meals on Wheels’ Dancing with Our Stars and also the Paramount Theatre’s Dancing Like the Stars. He relishes any opportunity to use his dance knowledge and training for such great community causes.
A few years ago, a student introduced Adam to a dance that he remembered from his earlier dancing days. After many fruitless searches for more information, and much convincing Adam along with fellow instructor Abby) started working with Russ to create a syllabus for the Lauderdale Hustle so that it could be taught more easily. Since then, numerous group classes and a formation team have been taught this fun dance in the Indy area.
Jacob
Jacob hails from Louisville where he began his dancing career at Dance Louisville in 2016. While initially absorbing any and all dance styles that he could, his focus soon fell primarily on Country dance styles and West Coast Swing. Always one to push himself to excel at the things he cares about, he began competing in the UCWDC country dance circuit in 2017 and has since acquired 3 amateur world titles between ProAm and Line Dance.
Jacob firmly believes in the expression of dance as a conversation and the joy that dancing can bring to oneself and others.
Having recently moved to the Indianapolis area with his wife, Emily, and their two dogs, he is excited to be teaching at ABC Ballroom and bring that joy of dance to others. With the next country competition being held in Indy at the end of June, Jacob has hit the ground running by teaching private lessons for students wanting to compete.
